Effie Rose is a distinctive dual-use David Austin rose celebrated for its striking two-toned color scheme. The flower core glows with warm yellow and apricot hues, gradually transitioning to soft pale pink or off-white outer petals, creating a gentle layered visual contrast. Each bloom is a full cup shape composed of tightly packed double petals, reaching 8–10cm in width.
It releases a soothing medium tea fragrance and blooms continuously from spring through autumn. The shrub reaches 130cm tall, suitable for garden landscaping and cut flower harvesting. It delivers solid resistance to black spot and powdery mildew for low maintenance, yet it struggles with high heat—bloom colors will fade significantly during hot summer weather.
Plant Effie Rose in a fully sunny spot with loose, well-drained soil, supplying at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Offer slight shade during extreme high temperature to slow color fading. Water deeply when topsoil dries out, maintain good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases, and prune annually to encourage abundant repeat blooms.
The flower center is bright yellow or apricot, while outer petals are light pink or almost white with soft gradient transition.
It carries a gentle and pleasant medium tea fragrance.
It repeats blooms spring to autumn and resists black spot & powdery mildew well, but it has weak heat tolerance and flower color fades easily in hot weather.

Roses thrive in sunlight. During the growing season, they need at least 6 hours of direct light each day. Without sufficient light, they may not bloom — or the blooms may not fully develop.
Roses prefer a cool to warm climate, with an optimal temperature range of 18–28°C. When temperatures exceed 33°C, growth may slow. If exposed to intense sun and high heat, provide some shade during midday.
Use loose, well-aerated, nutrient-rich soil with good drainage. A recommended mix: 40% peat moss, 20% coconut coir, and 40% garden soil.
Water regularly, but be careful not to overwater. When planting, use organic sheep manure as a base fertilizer. For weekly feeding, a diluted water-soluble fertilizer works well throughout all stages of growth.
Prune regularly based on growth needs. Remove diseased branches, deadwood, thin stems, overly dense growth, spent blooms, and excessively long branches by cutting them back. When removing old branches, cut them off at the base.
