Why Choose Issei Rose?

Issei Rose is a sought-after modern Japanese cut rose celebrated for its delicate warm apricot-amber tone with romantic pink blush on outer petals while unfurling. Its most distinctive highlight is the exclusive four-part lotus core structure inside each bloom, delivering refined oriental floral aesthetics unseen in ordinary cut roses. Every 8–10cm flower goes through obvious color and shape changes from tight bud to fully open bloom, creating rich layered visual dynamics for both garden viewing and vase arrangements.

Growing compactly at just 80cm high, it fits perfectly in small garden borders and balcony containers. This variety possesses remarkable heat and sunlight tolerance, keeping stable bloom quality under strong summer sunshine. It blooms repeatedly across all growing seasons for year-round ornamental value and carries a soft mild tea scent suitable for indoor placement. Note that this rose produces many sharp thorns; aside from this minor drawback, its robust adaptability and elegant warm-toned blooms make it a top pick for florists and miniature-space gardeners.

Basic Care Tips

Plant Issei Rose in full sun with loose, well-drained soil, providing at least 6 hours direct sunlight daily to fully show its heat-resistant advantage. Water deeply once the surface soil dries out, wear gloves during pruning and bloom harvesting due to dense thorns, maintain air circulation among branches, and trim spent blooms regularly to stimulate continuous new bud production.

Rose Planting and Care Guide

Light

Roses thrive in sunlight. During the growing season, they need at least 6 hours of direct light each day. Without sufficient light, they may not bloom — or the blooms may not fully develop.

Temperature

Roses prefer a cool to warm climate, with an optimal temperature range of 18–28°C. When temperatures exceed 33°C, growth may slow. If exposed to intense sun and high heat, provide some shade during midday.

Soil

Use loose, well-aerated, nutrient-rich soil with good drainage. A recommended mix: 40% peat moss, 20% coconut coir, and 40% garden soil.

Water & Fertilizer

Water regularly, but be careful not to overwater. When planting, use organic sheep manure as a base fertilizer. For weekly feeding, a diluted water-soluble fertilizer works well throughout all stages of growth.

Pruning

Prune regularly based on growth needs. Remove diseased branches, deadwood, thin stems, overly dense growth, spent blooms, and excessively long branches by cutting them back. When removing old branches, cut them off at the base.
